We Have Arrived!

After 3 flights, 9 hours of layovers and approximately 24 hours of travel, we arrived at our final destination (Punta Arenas) to start the fun part of the trip!  As most of the time was spent in airplanes and airports there are not a lot of photos to share yet, but I did capture a few.

Flying above the clouds as we approach into Santiago.

Our guide for the trip (Wilfredo) met us at the airport and drove us to the hotel for our first night, the Hotel Carpa Manzano.  Upon arrival at the hotel, it was time to unpack and organize all the riding gear and ensure all the electronics where charged.  Pradeep had so many things plugged in  I thought we might blow a fuse!

Checking out the bike.  Look at the custom name on the wind screen!
Tomorrow will be our first riding day.  We ride from Punta Arenas to the Strait of Magellan which we will cross via a ferry and then continue to Rio Grande.  This will give up time to learn and adjust to the bikes, to each others riding styles and how we stay connected with the guide.  The initial plan is that he will follow behind us once we know where we are going.  The weather forecast is typical for this time of year with morning temperatures in the mid 40’s, high temperature of 50 accompanied by 25 mph minds!  So excited!
